Lava Copings
Lava copings – 3M ESPE’s Lava™ zirconia oxide copings can withstand stresses many times greater than those that occur in patients’ mouths. Lava anterior copings can be fabricated as thin as 0.3 mm. Single unit crowns and bridges with a maximum length of 38mm. Porcelains that can be used to overlay Lava copings include: Dentsply's Cercon Ceram S and Noritake's Cerabien CZR. For all copings: please send finished model
work with dies trimmed and margins marked with red pencil. The die should not be treated with die hardener or any other material that will provide a glossy finish. There should be no wax block-out or smoothing.
